Employee Spotlight - Lana Welch
We want to start off our first Employee Spotlight with Lana Welch! She has been with us for almost a year and we enjoy her more and more everyday! She is the shining, happy face that you see when you come for lunch at The Pink House, Owasso.
Check out our little interview with her!
Name: Lana Welch
Birthday: April 17
Hometown: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Favorite Pink House Dish:
Chicken Salad Sandwich, no pickle, no lettuce, a bag of chips, and a glass of Iced Tea.
Favorite Hot Tea:
Not a fan of hot tea, but I drink coffee every morning.
Favorite Dessert:
Banana Bread or Baked Fudge
How long have you worked at The Pink House?
1 year.
How many children do you have?
Three. My oldest, Lindsey is retired now, she used to be an assistant. Then, Andrea is a computer programmer for Ace Hardware and lives in Chicago. My son Robert works at the Osage Casino and teaches concealed carry classes.
What did you do before you started working at The Pink House?
My very first job was as a secretary for a large company. Later, I worked at a department store as a buyer. I worked in the intimate apparel and lingerie department.
Do you have any pets?
I have a dog named Judy. She is a Japanese Chin and has all white fur. I rescued her when she was 2 and she is now 8 years old.
I have a heart for the people that work at Animal Rescue places. I have become friends with some of the people that work at the local shelter. I really just admire them. They are a different kind of people who are so tender and sweet to all of the animals that are brought to them. They see a lot of good and bad and you really have to have a big love for animals to do that job.
What are some of your hobbies?
Working! I always do something that I love so I dedicate myself to that work. I love to think about new ideas for the place I work. It keeps me busy and it keeps me happy.
(See? We are so lucky to have her!)
